Public Relations Manager jobs in Hawaii

The Public Relations Manager supports the Project Manager by developing public communication materials, such as press releases and project updates coordinated with Government public relations personnel.

Primary Functions & Responsibilities:

• Provide public outreach assistance, construction impact mitigation, business and residential impact mitigation, and media relations.

• Develop and manage public relations, including news announcements, media relations, and speaking opportunities.

• Collaborate with team and other departments to develop concepts, strategies and tactics for public relations and event programs.

• Set up and manage property media tours, on-site filming and photo shoots, satellite media tours, and executive interviews.

• Represent The Company in various community and related industry organizations.

• Coordinate and manage special media and public events.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills Used:

• Strong writing skills with an ability to convert complex ideas into compelling stories

• Outstanding attention to detail, listening skills, and editing/proof-reading skills.

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.

• Familiarity of local history, culture and marketplace a must

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in communications, business administration, or related field

• 5 years of experience in the public relations field.

• Experienced with media relations (press, broadcast, social, etc) in Hawaii.

Starting Salary: $60,000.00/year
