Public School Teacher prepares lesson plans and instructs students in an assigned school. Develops and implements grade appropriate course work, activities, and assessments to meet the academic needs of children in a K-12 classroom setting. Being a Public School Teacher evaluates and monitors student's performance. Assesses and documents students' progress. Additionally, Public School Teacher participates in development and implementation of Individual Education Plans for specific students. Resolves classroom issues and conflicts. May participate in implementing special programs for students. May supervise teaching assistants. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require specific state-level teaching license. Typically requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically reports to a principal. The Public School Teacher occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. This full-time position is for a teacher in the elementary grades who can teach all core subjects and can provide a Catholic environment for our learners.

    • is dynamic, passionate, and well-versed educator with experience in diverse classrooms.
    • has strong organizational and class management skills as well as the ability to communicate regularly and effectively with all stakeholders including parents, other colleagues, administration and students.

    Requirements

    BA with CA multiple subject credential and/or in process in an education-related field preferred
    • CPR and First-Aid Trained (renew certificates every 2 years)
    • ADLA Fingerprinted and Virtus-trained (once hired)
    • Prior teaching experience in the primary grades preferred
    • Commitment to Catholic Education and open to growing in faith through formation opportunities. Junior high attends Mass 5 days a week at 8am Mass
    • Proficient with educational technology
    • Effective classroom management skills
    • Comfortable working in and supportive of faith-based education
    • Provides individual and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student
    • Creates effective assessments that track and ensure student learning
    • Creates and maintains a safe and orderly classroom environment in which students can learn and enjoy learning
    • Identifies student needs, and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude and learning problems
    • Regularly communicates and meets with parents and teachers on individual students’ progress
    • Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day
    • Using a wide- array of formative and summative assessments
    • Weekly Gradebook Update
    • Preferred knowledge of Google Suite for grades 3-5 (Google Drive, Google Classroom, etc.)

    The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range.
