Public School Teacher jobs in Michigan

Public School Teacher prepares lesson plans and instructs students in an assigned school. Develops and implements grade appropriate course work, activities, and assessments to meet the academic needs of children in a K-12 classroom setting. Being a Public School Teacher evaluates and monitors student's performance. Assesses and documents students' progress. Additionally, Public School Teacher participates in development and implementation of Individual Education Plans for specific students. Resolves classroom issues and conflicts. May participate in implementing special programs for students. May supervise teaching assistants. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require specific state-level teaching license. Typically requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically reports to a principal. The Public School Teacher occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Job Summary: Work with students to develop science knowledge and skills that are fundamental to their success; to discover and develop special talents of students in the field of science.

     

    Qualifications: 

    • State of Michigan Teacher Certification required
    • DI or DX endorsement required  

    Essential Job Functions: 

    • Successfully educate students on state and district standards.
    • Consistent planning and delivery of effective instruction aligned with the district-provided curriculum.
    • Implement strategies to enhance students’ learning. 
    • Regularly assess students' proficiency levels and adapt instruction accordingly.
    • Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
    • Foster respect and understanding among students of all backgrounds.
    • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students as needed.
    • Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress to parents/guardians.
    • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices.
    • Attend staff meetings and collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional strategies.
    • Develop standards for critical analysis through group discussions.
    • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
    • Perform other duties as assigned. 

     

     

    Physical Requirements: 

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear (in a quiet or noisy environment). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust/focus.     Work Environment: 

    The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate. Work may be performed indoors and/or outdoors. The employee is directly responsible for the safety, well-being and work output of students.

     

    Mental Functions:
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to compare, analyze, communicate both orally and in writing, copy, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, compile and negotiate.

    In accordance with the FHEA Master Agreement.
