    What you will be doing:
    In this role, you will work for the Department of Health (DOH) to provide design and content creation and editing/updating services, including research, writing, and editing to the divisions of the department for graphics, printed reports, pamphlets, newsletters, webpages, and other publications. You will serve as a creative liaison to clients, advising staff in the preparation and revision of publications in hard copy and electronic form; Proof, edit, and post publications and webpages, with attention paid to accessibility standards, overall quality, clarity of message and presentation detail; and use graphic and photo editing software such as the Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, etc.

    This position is part of the Public Information Team, the centralized group of communications professionals that supports our department based in Anchorage or Juneau. While we are currently working a hybrid schedule, we typically work in an office setting. Because our department is so broad in scope and one of the largest State of Alaska departments, the work is highly varied in content and the audiences we strive to reach with our communications efforts.

    “Typically gained by” means the prevalent, usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job.
