Purchasing Agent jobs in Vermont
Purchasing Agent initiates, prepares, processes, and verifies purchase orders following established guidelines to purchase materials and goods by required delivery dates. Inputs transactions and administers a purchasing and contracts system or database. Being a Purchasing Agent interacts with suppliers to obtain favorable pricing terms, product specifications, monitor availability, and optimize savings. Expedites delayed orders and resolves issues with changes, returns, replacements, and credit arrangements. Additionally, Purchasing Agent coordinates with internal teams to ensure that procurement needs are met promptly and efficiently. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or team leader. The Purchasing Agent independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. Purchasing Assistant
Our Rutland, VT client is seeking a full-time Purchasing Assistant for their team! You’ll play a key role in procuring materials so the company can produce its high-quality metal and stone home décor products.
Responsibilities of the Purchasing Assistant- Ensure quantity and delivery date of purchased materials meet production scheduling needs
- Establish schedules in accordance with master schedule
- Monitor inventory levels and issue requisitions for materials
- Select new vendors, negotiate material prices, assess market conditions, and resolve delivery problems
- Research the marketplace to obtain the highest quality product at the lowest cost
- Exercise judgment on quantities, material substitutions, and delivery issues
- Perform other related tasks as assigned or required
Qualifications of the Purchasing Assistant
- Previous purchasing experience
- Computer proficiency
- Attention to detail
- Strong organizational, negotiation, and decision-making skills
