Inputs transactions and administers a purchasing and contracts system or database. Being a Purchasing Clerk, Sr interacts with suppliers to obtain favorable pricing terms, product specifications, monitor availability, and optimize savings. Expedites delayed orders and resolves issues with changes, returns, replacements, and credit arrangements. Additionally, Purchasing Clerk, Sr coordinates with internal teams to ensure that procurement needs are met promptly and efficiently. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or team leader. The Purchasing Clerk, Sr works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Job Responsibilities:
- Purchase materials for jobs based on evaluation of suppliers for price, quality, availability, etc.
- Interview and negotiate with vendors
- Work with suppliers for deliveries and resolve shipping errors
- Maintain records of purchases and inventories
- Help out in other departments, such as order entry processing and shipping, as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum 5 years experience in graphics field as a buyer/purchasing agent
- Purchasing knowledge
- Understanding of screen and digital printing materials, such as inks and adhesives, and experience ordering them in a business setting
- Willingness to multitask, learn on the job, and help other departments when needed
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Reliable and prompt
