Purchasing Clerk, Sr jobs in Ohio

Overview

Supports Purchasing department to ensure adequate quantities of raw materials, packaging and production supplies for achieving scheduled production goals and meeting customer requirements. Serves as back-up for Purchasing and HR assistants.

Responsibilities

• Print department reports daily.
• Enter purchase orders for materials and packaging into SAP.
• Enters purchase orders for sanitation, shipping, and production departments.
• Coordinates freight pickups and expedites COAs as needed from vendors.
• Confirms expected purchase order receipt reports and receivers.
• Sends in orders to vendors, tracks and expedites orders as needed.
• Resolves suspended invoice issues.
• Files all purchase order receivers and other purchasing reports.
• Coordinates with other department managers to ensure proper purchasing, scheduling, processing, packaging, accounting and inventory control activities and procedures are followed.
• Serves as backup for Purchasing Assistant and HR Assistant.
• Serve as a Qualified Individual as part of the plant’s Food Safety Plan, including monitoring and verification activities related to process control and preventive control measures.
• Ensures compliance to quality, food safety, 5S, OSHA and HACCP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards.
• Ensures compliance to all federal, state and local laws and company policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Strong organizational skills and excellent communication.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with excel and Microsoft office.
• Ability to appropriately work with confidential information and situations, accurately file, order supplies and manage correspondence.
• Working knowledge of purchasing systems, inventory systems, and manufacturing processes preferred.
• Prior experience using SAP preferred.
