Job Summary: As a Purchasing Agent, your primary responsibility is to secure products at optimal prices, manage vendor relations, and analyze market trends to enhance value and yield. Collaborating with various teams, you'll facilitate product selection, order processing, and handle discrepancies in alignment with pricing and promotion agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procure products at competitive prices, meeting quantity and quality specifications while considering various factors like discounts, freight terms, and lead times.
• Manage vendor relationships, evaluating factors such as warehouse space, sales trends, and product shelf life to optimize the product mix.
• Collaborate with senior buyers to negotiate prices, discounts, and transportation terms with vendors and logistics teams.
• Analyze sales records and market trends to forecast customer buying patterns and determine inventory needs.
• Foster strong ties with vendors to ensure timely delivery and manage purchase order accuracy.
• Handle short-term inventory needs, negotiating returns and resolving delivery discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain price accuracy, coordinate with sales and marketing to understand customer preferences, and conduct regular line reviews with the Purchasing Manager.
• Utilize AS400 and other systems to maintain optimal inventory levels, generate essential reports, and contribute to event preparations.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Demonstrates accountability, timeliness, adaptability, problem-solving skills, effective communication, and customer-centric focus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with a bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of relevant work experience preferred, especially in data entry and electronic data interface within procurement.
