Expedites delayed orders and resolves issues with changes, returns, replacements, and credit arrangements. This position has the responsibility for the purchasing of production and service parts including 3rd party manufacturing and outsourcing. Duties including planning, scheduling, initiating, monitoring and quality assurance of all procurement and contract activities while maintaining relationships with suppliers, negotiating purchasing contracts, solving order discrepancies, and managing the purchasing process from the requisition stage through delivery, ensuring best possible prices while maintaining the highest quality with acceptable lead times. Further, this role will be responsible for tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce costs and improve effectiveness as well as forecasting prices and market trends. Work requires independent and professional judgment, following internal ITW policies, procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations, and is performed under the general direction of the Strategic Procurement Manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has supervisory responsibilities and carries out these responsibilities in accordance with the ITW’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, addressing complaints, coaching/mentoring for performance and resolving problems. Must have a passion for motivating and inspiring others to grow and develop talent and bench strength within the team.
These supervisory responsibilities for the purchasing function must be in line with the goals and objectives set forth by the Strategic Procurement Manager.
Sound judgment and excellent written communication skills with proven negotiation skills
Desired Education/Experience
Experience in ERP systems and the principles of Inventory Management a plus
Experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations a plus
Global Purchasing experience a plus.
