POSITION SUMMARY

Manages all purchasing activities and establishes strategic purchasing processes and procedures. Maintains relationship with vendors or suppliers and negotiates contracts for major purchases. Evaluates and analyzes purchasing trend and price trend to identify forecasting demand and minimize purchasing costs. The employee must maintain an extensive knowledge of department processes and maintain an accurate, up to date inventory of these goods.

• Receiving product from vendors and entering product into point of sale.
• Shipping retail product out to customers, both UPS and LTL.
• Continuous inventory evaluations of retail product.
• Back up cashier and customer service.
• Work hours are from Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
• Other duties may be assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent, an associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 3 to 5 years’ experience in related area as an individual contributor.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. The individual must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. The individual is expected to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

The individual must maintain the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. They must also be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

The individual must maintain the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Forklift Certification or maintain the capability of being forklift certified.
