Description
We are seeking a Purchasing Coordinator for the LEAF FORGE - Pryor, Oklahoma manufacturing facility.
The Purchasing Coordinator oversees the procurement of tobacco materials and components and coordinates the production scheduling process within a tobacco production facility. This role involves planning the raw material requirements, coordinating with suppliers, and optimizing production schedules to meet demand while adhering to quality standards and regulatory requirements specific to the tobacco industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise the purchasing and production planning process, providing leadership, guidance, and support in the procurement and production scheduling process.
- Analyze demand forecasts, monitor inventory levels, and plan procurement strategies to optimize production schedules.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of raw materials and related supplies.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers while negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms.
- Collaborate closely with other teams, including production, quality assurance, logistics, and customers, to develop production schedules based on demand forecasts and processing capacity.
- Monitor market trends and forecasts to anticipate changes in supply and demand for raw materials.
- Analyze data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost optimization, and inventory management.
- Implement inventory management processes and procedures utilizing an ERP software system to optimize inventory levels, minimize waste, and ensure FIFO stock rotation while maintaining lot control and traceability of materials.
- Coordinate with logistics and transportation teams to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components to support production schedules.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels as well as records and documentation related to procurement activities, production schedules, and supplier contracts.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry stands governing the procurement, handling, and processing of tobacco products, including quality assurance measures and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, or production planning within the manufacturing industry or a related sector.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work closely with team members in a fast-paced production environment.
- Thorough understanding of production processes and techniques.
- Familiarity with compliance with quality standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems, inventory management software, and other relevant tools for procurement and production scheduling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills as well as effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
