Purchasing Manager manages procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Manager collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Implements processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Manager oversees auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Purchasing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Purchasing Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Purchasing Manager is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement processes within the organization. Reporting directly to the Vice President, the Purchasing Manager will play a critical role in optimizing procurement operations, ensuring compliance with company standards, and fostering effective relationships with suppliers.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Strategic Procurement Planning:
    • Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with organizational goals.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand department requirements and forecast future needs.
    • Procurement Process Management:
    • Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to purchase order issuance.
    • Ensure adherence to company policies and standards in all procurement activities.
    • Review and negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers.
    • Supplier Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the best quality, cost, and delivery performance.
    • Evaluate and qualify new suppliers, conducting regular performance reviews.
    • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor the purchasing team, providing guidance on best practices and professional development.
    • Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and enhance cross-functional efficiency.
    • Process Optimization:
    • Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize risks.
    • Implement new technologies or tools to streamline procurement operations.
    • Contract Management:
    • Oversee the preparation, review, and execution of contractual agreements.
    • Monitor contract compliance and address any deviations or issues.
    • Budget and Cost Control:
    • Collaborate with finance and other relevant departments to ensure budget adherence.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
    • Risk Management:
    • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with the supply chain and procurement activities.
    • Develop contingency plans to address disruptions in the supply chain.
    • All other duties as assigned by Executive Management.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in procurement and supply chain management.
    • Proven experience in a managerial or leadership role.
    • Proficiency in SAP and advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite.
    • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
