JOB OVERVIEW
QA Construction Services is looking for an outstanding individual to join our Commercial Construction team! This individual will be in charge of managing projects ranging from small renovations to large ground-up commercial jobs. They must possess a high level of integrity, technical competence, communication skills, and a passion for success. On the Job Training, continued education in the construction industry, and opportunity for advancement will be offered to the right candidate. Some relocation assistance can be provided.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide management and oversight of general construction activities performed by employees and contractors in the execution of work, ensuring work performed follows industry standard practices and applicable codes.
- Meet with directly with clients, displaying a high level of interpersonal communication and professionalism.
- Develop projects from the ground up with clients, contracts, management, and execution.
- Generate project budgets, schedules, and closeout documents.
- Responsible for ensuring job sites are safe and adhere to OSHA guidelines.
- Responsible for ensuring employees and contractors are properly qualified to perform the work and follow proper safety protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings, and site plans.
- Must be able to travel and work at various job sites in the greater Austin area.
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of and can follow construction ‘best-practices’, standards and applicable codes.
- Minimum 5-years experience in related positions and fields. This is flexible based on the candidate's specific experience and jobs.
- Must have a reasonable level of competency in writing and grammar.
- Must be able to work and produce results under minimal supervision.
- Must have a functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Project, Word, Excel.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with coworkers and clients.
- Complete a sometimes heavy workload within established time frames.
- Perform quality control check on finished projects, and walkthroughs with clients.
- Ensure that project deliverables and milestones are met.
- Ability to demonstrate organizing and implementation skills.
- Flexibility to work outside the job description or fill in when needed in other roles.
- Analytical and problem-solving, troubleshoot abilities, and deductive reasoning skills.
- Must be a self-starter with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to work day, evening, or weekend overtime, and occasional overnight trips.
- Must pass background check, fingerprinting, and pre-employment screenings.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Experience in understanding architecture, electrical, structural, mechanical, plumbing, fire/life safety systems drawings.
- Experience with building accurate project budgets, executing contracts, and generating project reports.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to work long hours on construction sites when necessary and perform occasional physical labor when needed.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, have a clean driving record, and operate a motor vehicle.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
