Job Title: Director of Quality Assurance - Semiconductor
Job Location: Lake Forest, CA
Compensation: $120K - $180K DOE plus stock options

Our company designs, develops and manufactures Silicon Carbide (SiC) Power Semiconductors as well as 150mm SiC epitaxial wafers. SiC Diodes and MOSFETs are available in both discrete and module form factors as well as bare die and wafer form. We also offer power conversion application expertise which includes sub-system design and semi-custom modules. We serve the following end markets: Electric Vehicle Chargers and Charging Stations; Power Factor Correction (PFC); Output Rectification; Power Supplies including Server Farms; Solar Panel Inverters, Welding, Medical Equipment; and Motor Drives.

We have a small fast-moving team with minimal bureaucracy. We are a diverse, pre-IPO startup and we are nearly 20% employee-owned.

What You Will Be Doing

• Establish a culture of innovation within the Quality organization, championing the deployment of superior processes in lieu of traditional inspection activities and ensuring the delivery of continuously improving value and compliance to customers and the business unit
• Direct all quality systems/operations
• Manage utilization of equipment, facilities, and personnel to obtain maximum efficiency and meet performance objectives
• Maintain authority over Quality Assurance budget and scheduling
• Responsible for department compliance with all internal SOPs and external regulations
• Recommend and/or approve all salary and staffing changes within the department
• Lead the development and implementation of the Quality Assurance program for the company to meet the directives of regulatory agencies and standards such as ISO, AS9100 and AEC-Q101
• Monitor the regulatory compliance of the company with respect to current regulations, any inspection findings, and adherence to the Company's QA program
• Advises executive management and responsible head of the company's compliance status and system-wide implications of any findings
• Identify systematic problems and coordinate corrective actions, systems or process changes that will resolve problems and Improve operations
• Develop measurement systems based on quality assessment tools and practices, and manage the data
• Coordinate organizational efforts for ISO 9001 standard compliance achievement (and other relevant standards).
• Institute quality management processes for the company through technical training and education programs and materials
• Identify quality programs and processes and operating systems for center implementation
• Monitor Quality Plan to ensure system-wide compliance.
• Develop, recommend, and carry out operating and capital expenditure budgets for QA
• Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

What You Need for this Position

Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or similar with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience with the following:

• Experience in the semiconductor industry (preferably Discrete Semiconductors - MOSFETs, Diodes, etc.)
• Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience
• Experience with quality standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, AEC-Q101
• Quality Management Systems and RMAs
• Experience or interest in Silicon Carbide (SiC) is a bonus
