  • Summary
    Being highly committed to our customers, the Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and proposing measures to correct or improve our final products and processes to meet established quality standards. They will prepare and implement quality assurance policies and procedures and perform routine inspections and quality tests. This individual will report to the Engineering Manager and be a strong partner to our machine operators on the floor. This person will have to communicate with all departments to address issues, propose resolutions, and see through the quality vision for the company. They will also maintain proper reporting, documentation, training materials, and any other necessary routines for the department.

    Schedule
    Monday - Friday, 8 hour days, 1st shift.

    Pay Range
    $75,000-$85,000 salary with bonus opportunities.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.  
    • Audit quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements in quality control
    • Inspect incoming samples and manufactured products using industry-appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring dimensions, and examining functionality
    • Collect statistical quality data by summarizing re-works and wastes and completing reports
    • Implement and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) documents and forms to ISO certifications under direction of Engineering Manager
    • Ensure compliance and productivity of the QMS by completing internal audits and surveys and assisting with certification and customer audits
    • Keep measurement equipment operating accurately by following calibration requirements and calling for repairs
    • Assist in the development of inspection plans
    • Determine the causes of product defects and reworks using 5Y, 8D, and fishbone diagrams
    • Manage customer complaints, nonconformance and return material authorization processes (RMAs and NCMRs)
    • Issuance of corrective actions to decrease RMAs
    • Reduce scrap through processes and corrections
    • Provide support to engineering, sales, operations, and others as needed to maintain company quality standards and manual
    • Assist in evaluation of quality control processes and continuous improvement implementation
    • Utilize Advanced Product Quality Planning, FMEA, Control Plan, and PPAP in the quality planning process of new existing products and processes
    • Assist in training personnel on quality control measures
    • Other job duties as assigned

    • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to customer experience
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, including formulas and pivot tables
    • Possesses ability to use gauges such as calipers and micrometers to measure products
    • Able to read and understand Engineering drawings and blueprints
    • Effective communicator to various audiences using verbal and written skills
    • Utilize industry standard tools such as FMEA and PPAP
    • Ability to understand and develop quality management systems
    • Confidence in your ability to work effectively in team settings
    • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and shifting priorities, moving deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to multi-task and work autonomously to meet deadlines

    Education and/or Experience
    • Associate degree in engineering or related field required, bachelor’s degree preferred
    • Minimum 5 or more years working in a manufacturing operations environment required
    • Minimum 5 or more years working with quality assurance/control
    • Minimum 3 or more years working for an organization certified to ISO 9001 or similar standard required
    • Certification in ISO 9001 Quality Auditing is a plus
    • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus
