We are looking for a Full-Time experienced Quality Assurance Registered Nurse (RN) to work in the office for a home health agency. The RN must live in the area and come into the office daily (Monday through Friday). To qualify for the Quality Improvement Nurse position, the Registered Nurse MUST have experience in one of the following: Staff Development, Utilization Management, MDS, Quality Improvement (QI), or Quality Assurance (QA) Nurse, or Utilization Review (UR), or Quality Review (QR). The nurse must also have at least 1 year experience in the home health setting with full proficiency with OASIS documentation and ICD-10 coding. The Quality Assurance nurse participates in improving the overall integrity of clinical documentation. Reviews clinical data upon admission, recertification, transfer, resumption of care and discharge for documentation consistency with Plan of Care, acuity level, service appropriation and completeness. The QA nurse will timely and accurately review patient charts to accurately code and close OASIS and ensures the accuracy of OASIS and outcomes reviewing all OASIS assessments, assuring that responses are appropriate based on available data. The RN will review medication profiles and physician orders to assist with correct data collection and will independently make corrections, where appropriate, in collaboration with the clinical case manager per agency policy. The QA RN will participate in case conferences with clinical staff to discuss items identified as needing clarification, adjustment, or correction on OASIS documents. The Quality Assurance Registered Nurse is responsible for the assignment of appropriate diagnosis code(s), as well as assuring accuracy using current ICD-10-CM and home health coding conventions.
