  • Job Title: Quality Manager
     
    Responsibilities:  Design, lead implementation and operation of the SPI quality system; monitor their results and design necessary corrective actions in order to contribute to customer satisfaction and compliance with our Quality standards. At the same time, ensure the consolidation, updating and communication of product specifications. Provides help and assist in all the activities related to the department. 
     
    • Design, ensure implementation and correct operation of quality assessment systems for all SPI processes, both App and Ch; thus, contributing to achieving customer and company quality standards.
    • Monitor quality results and coordinate necessary corrective actions in order not to repeat or reduce non-conformities.
    • Ensuring satisfaction and service to customers as well as ensuring that the rest of the organization knows their requirements.
    • Determine, lead and / or execute the response to technical training needs of the staff in order to ensure that they are covered.
    • Consolidate, update and communicate to all personnel the product specifications, measurement tables and changes on products.
     
    SPECIFIC TASKS:
    • Prepare specifications of all plant products (sewing and measurement tables)
    • Prepare measurement tables of all plant products.
    • Make sure to notify all changes to the plant with the corresponding meetings that this implies, as well as the subsequent follow-up that is taking place.
    • Create evaluation systems for each process (Chenille and Apparel)
    • Inform the managers (high and medium) about the performance of the quality system and about any need for improvement.
    • Ensure that the quality systems established in the plant are working.
    • Provide adequate customer service in relation to specific requirements of our customers.
    • Conduct training on reading orders to all new personnel and special operations.
    • Determine training needs and coordinate training actions for employees, according to needs, together with Human Resources.
    • Make sure that the organization knows the customer's requirements.
    • Review reports and take corrective action with the Engineer and Enc. Quality.
    • Do random audits of processes (Apparel and Chenille)
     
    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES – In any job with supervisory responsibilities, the following are an explicit part of the incumbent’s responsibilities and essential functions:
    • Participate in decisions related to the selection, promotion, transfer, pay and discipline of assigned personnel.
    • Clearly communicate job duties and responsibilities to enable individuals to proceed with certainty in the performance of their positions.
    • Monitor the work performance of assigned personnel on a continual basis; conduct effective performance reviews; take corrective action whenever necessary and, where necessary, work with HR Generalists to establish performance improvement plans.
    • Support the development of assigned personnel’s skills and abilities and demonstrate by personal example the desired standards of conduct (Jostens values) and work performance.
    • Identify and resolve skill gaps and succession issues.
    • Administer Company policies with regard to discipline, absenteeism, etc., in a fair and equitable manner, and fully document all incidents and actions taken.
    • Involve assigned HR Generalist on compliance issues such as pay equity, equal opportunity in hiring and promotions, and proper procedures for hiring, terminations, lay-offs, etc.   
     
    Required:
    • Bachelor's Degree required.
    • Bilingual, English Spanish.
    • 3 years of experience in product management.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks.
    • Must have a sense of urgency and be deadline oriented.
    • Must have strong analytical skills.
    • Must have strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.
    • Demonstrates attention to detail /organizational skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communications.
    •  Ability to work independently within a team environment.
    • Strong MS Office proficiency is a must.
