Radiation Physicist ensures the quality of care in the use of radiation-producing sources and imaging equipment and the protection of patients and staff from radiation. Calibrates all radiation therapy equipment, conducts X-ray machine performance surveys, and implements procedures to ensure quality control for electronic imaging devices. Being a Radiation Physicist recommends radiation safety procedures. Informs staff in radiation safety practices. Additionally, Radiation Physicist may require an advanced degree of radiation physics. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Radiation Physicist contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. We are currently looking for an experienced insurance authorization and verification specialist. This position will be located at our Cape Coral Office. 909 Del Prado Blvd. S, Cape Coral, FL 33990.
The responsibilities of the insurance authorization and verification specialists include but are not limited to the following:
Verifying patients insurance information has been obtained and is active
Verifying insurance coverage, eligibility and benefits for all patients
Appropriate documentation of this information in our practice management system
Working with insurance companies and third party payers to obtain and follow up on insurance authorizations
Working with primary care physicians to obtain and follow up on patient referrals
An understanding of various insurances and plan types as well as setting plan codes
Communication with the billing team to assure proper billing
The authorization/verification specialist will need to have excellent communication skills as they will be communicating with internal customers and physicians as well as insurance companies and patients.
Multitasking, patience and good follow through are very important. Phone skills should be excellent as well as working in a team environment.
