East Brookfield & Spencer Railroad (EBSR) is hiring for Railroad Train Conductors and Utility Workers

EBSR is a short line railroad operated in East Brookfield, and Spencer, MA that serves the Northeast Automotive Intermodal Gateway. NAIG is an automotive terminal that opened in 2004, with over 4 miles of track and 90 acres of transfer and storage space. It can handle 300k vehicles per year and consolidates automotive delivery by CSX rail for all southern New England cities.

The company is privately owned and connects with the adjacent CSX Boston Subdivision mainline.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Utility

• Inspect rail cars for standard defects that need repair
• Operate machinery and equipment to aid in the repair of rail cars
• Document repairs made, and parts used during the repair process
• Comply with all FRA/CSX and Company rules

Conductor

• Ensure safe switch and spotting operations on the ground.
• Comply with all FRA/CSX and Company rules
• Previous Railroad experience is a plus.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends/holidays and being on call as needed
• Must be able to properly wear all required Personal Protective Equipment
• Ability to pass a physical, pre-employment drug test and criminal background check

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $27.84 per hour
