    We are currently looking for a Railroad Conductor. The Railroad Conductor will coordinate the daily activity of the train and train crew, ensuring the timely operation of the train and safety of passengers.

    Schedule

    12 hour shifts, 4 on 4 off, swing shifts

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    * Directs and assists train crew, providing training and demonstration of appropriate methods for connecting and uncoupling cars, operating switches, and making repairs.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    * Manages and facilitates the safe and efficient operation of the train and crew.

    * Reviews cargo loading and unloading documentation to ensure that cargo is loaded and unloaded correctly.

    * Inspects train and equipment prior to departure to ensure that equipment is in safe working condition and is in compliance with regulations and requirements.

    * Communicates with other conductors or stations through radio or telephone.

    * Maintains vigilant observation of train, cargo areas, and station, reporting any suspicious activities and taking appropriate actions.

    * Assists Locomotive Engineer with operation of locomotive equipment.

    * Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience:

    * High school diploma or equivalent required.

    * Current driver's license required.

    * Three years of related work experience required.

    Physical Requirements:

    * Prolonged periods of standing and traversing railroad cars and tracks.

    * Must be able to visually inspect locomotive vehicles in all types of weather.

    * Must be able to lift, push, pull, climb, sit, and stand.

    * Must be able to identify and distinguish colors and hear warning signals.

    * Must be able to walk up to a mile on rough terrain.

    * Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at a time.
