  • Job Summary
    Responsible for providing assistance to the professional staff. Delivers direct care to residents (bathing, toileting, feeding, grooming, etc.) as directed by the RN or LPN in charge. Always maintains resident comfort and safety.
     
    Essential Functions
    • Assists with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) by serving meals and feeding residents as needed; offering hydration and snacks; helping residents ambulate; and turning, positioning, and transferring residents.
    • Takes care of residents’ personal hygiene by assisting with or giving bed baths, baths, or showers; toileting by offering bedpans and walking residents to the toilet; providing skin care, and keeping residents clean at all times.
    • Implements plan of care based on residents physical, psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs.
    • Provides direct resident care and reports condition and changes to RN or LPN.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of, and respect for the rights, dignity, and individuality of each resident in all interactions.
    • Demonstrates time management and prioritization of tasks.
    • Documents results of resident care within established policies, procedures, and scope of practice.
    • Promote the mission of the organization.
    • Ability to adapt to changes in daily work hour, and location to work.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications
    • Successful completion of a state-approved CNA program and current certification required.
    • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
    • Ability to interact favorably with residents, families/visitors, and staff.
    • Enjoy working with the senior population.
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitude.
    • Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities.
    • Ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
