Ranch Manager manages the overall daily operations of a farm/ranch. Provides supervision and direction to staff. Being a Ranch Manager is responsible for purchasing tools, equipment and materials. May require a bachelor's degree or its equivalent with at least 5 years of related experience. Additionally, Ranch Manager relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.     The employee hired for this position will work on a daily basis with the owner.

    Must have “hands‐on” experience in the following areas:
    • EXPERIENCED in all phases of forage crop production: Alfalfa, grass, oats, barley & corn
    • Hay production: Alfalfa and grass hay. (Mid‐size bales‐3’x4’)
    • Operating & servicing all major farm equipment
    • Welding, maintenance & general farm repair
    • Familiar with fertilizers & pesticides
    • Knowledge of water conservation practices
    • General farm/ranch skills: ditch maintenance, fence repair, road maintenance
    • livestock experience beneficial, but not required
    Job Responsibilities (by priority):
    1. Management duties as needed

    2. Hay production:
    • Hands on operation of all haying equipment (swathers, rakes, balers, loaders and
    trucks)
    • Oversight on all haying labor
    • Work with owner to determine haying schedule
    • All necessary maintenance & repairs
    3. Irrigation‐‐ operation and maintenance repairs for:
    • Pivots irrigation
    • wheel‐line irrigation
    • flood irrigation
    4. Maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment
    5. All phases of ground preparation and planting
    6. Fertilizer and pesticide management and application
    7. Maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment
    8. Management duties as needed
    9. Maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment
    10. Facility maintenance (roads, fences, ditches)
    11. Some livestock work (off season)
