    POSITION TITLE : Ranch Hand

    Location : Hebbronville, TX

    FLSA : Non-Exempt

    Hire Pay : $16 Per Hour

    Classification : Full-Time

    Job Summary :

    The Ranch Hand will be responsible for assisting in wildlife and range management on the ranch. This includes conducting individual plant treatment chemical applications, maintaining and clearing roads, feeding established quail routes, assisting in native range restoration efforts, and more.

    The individual must have a background in ranching and / or farm operations.

    Essential Functions :

    • Conducting individual plant treatment chemical applications.
    • Maintaining and clearing roads around the ranch.
    • Feeding established quail routes.
    • Assisting in native range restoration efforts.
    • Establishing and maintaining quail hunting road systems.
    • Maintaining corn feeders.
    • Utilizing advanced hunting skills to locate wildlife.
    • Processing harvested animals (game).
    • Assisting the manager in general ranch duties including housekeeping, maintenance, landscaping, equipment upkeep, and cattle fencing.

    QUALIFICATIONS :

    Education and Experience requirements :

    • Preferably experienced in ranching and / or farm operations.
    • Positive attitude, initiative, and openness to new ideas.
    • Strong mental alertness, motivation, and persistence.
    • Ability to work well with others and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
    • Valid state hunting license with no violations of local, state, or federal game laws.
    • Ability to work in extreme South Texas weather conditions, lift up to 50lbs, and walk long distances without rest.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS :

    Valid state hunting license required. No violations of local, state, or federal game laws.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

    • Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions of South Texas heat.
    • Need to be able to work efficiently on their own and with groups to complete tasks.
    • Need to be able to lift 50lbs.
    • Ability to work in a seated or standing position for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to walk long distances without rest.

    WORKING CONDITIONS :

    • Person must be able to work in extreme weather conditions of South Texas heat.
    • The position involves significant physical activity, including walking long distances and lifting.

    The position requires independent completion of tasks. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    ALCOHOL AND DRUG TESTING POLICY :

    This position is subject to pre-employment drug testing. DLP Staffing has a Drug Free Workplace Policy which includes Post-Accident Testing, Random Testing, and / or Reasonable Suspicion Testing.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

    • Must pass a background check.
    • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
    • Must have a valid driver's license.
