Works under the direction of the Owners (member/mangers of Sunset Ranch LLC) and Lead Ranch Hand. Physical strength, a sense of personal responsibility, and attention to detail are quality aspects of a successful ranch hand.

Duties

● Skills required: basic carpentry & plumbing; fence construction and repair; operate mower; operate power tools and chain saw; general equipment maintenance; general janitorial..

● Hours: Monday – Friday 7-3. Must be willing and available to work later or on weekends if necessary to respond to weather and/or other emergency conditions.

● Overall responsibility for repair and maintenance of all aspects of ranch property, including interior and exterior of barns and stalls, outbuildings and accessory buildings, fencing, arenas, mowing fields, weed-whacking, snow removal, water supply, trash removal, cleaning out barns daily and indoor arena weekly, routine maintenance on equipment, organization, and recordkeeping, etc. for safety compliance.

● As with most horse ranch work, this position requires heavy lifting, bending, climbing, twisting, pushing, pulling, reaching above the shoulders, walking on uneven and/or slippery terrain and other physical stress, as well as exposure to extreme heat and cold, sun, dust, hay and other common allergens. This position includes outside work in all weather conditions.

● In addition, Ranch Hand may be required to handle or work in proximity to horses of all temperaments.

● Ranch Hand must have reliable transportation regardless of weather conditions.

● Completing documentation daily tasks via provided documentation tools.

● Completing bi-weekly timesheet.

● Maintaining open and effective communication with Owners, Lead Ranch Hand, and other members of the Sunset Ranch LLC team.

● Coordinating with Owners and Lead Ranch Hand on supplies and equipment needs.

● Other duties as assigned and agreed.

As a Ranch Hand, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the ranch, including animal care, maintenance, and general farm duties. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for working with animals.
