Overview

The financial analyst for lease accounting provides guidance on lease accounting topics including, but not limited to, real estate and equipment leases under Accounting Standards Codification (ASC) 842 Leases through the following activities:

• Responsible for the lease accounting software LeaseController for EB and APS
• Performance of lease vs buy analysis for Equipment and Real Estate 
• Review and analyze current month real estate and equipment lease activities through information captured in emails and Oracle to determine new or modified leases
• Enter all new and modified leases into LeaseController monthly
• Review and Approve electronic Lease Project Requests in Oracle for equipment
• Complete Lease/Rental requisition approvals in a timely manner
• Perform peer reviews and approval of other lease accountant's leases
• Prepare monthly journal entries for leases
• Reconcile the lease general ledger balance sheets monthly
• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) leasing controls
• Support internal and external audit requests
• Support year-end disclosure by ensuring that the lease population in LeaseController is accurate and complete

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
• At least 2 years of EB Lease Accounting Experience
• Experience using Lease Accelerator LeaseController accounting software

Preferred:

• Previous experience preparing journal entries in Oracle EBS

• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail and data integrity – all requisitions, agreements and purchase orders need to be reviewed carefully in order to appropriately capture the relevant leasing information for input into the lease accounting software
• Very organized, able to handle a large volume of transactional work
• Self-motivator with a strong awareness of procedural compliance
