About the role
We are currently seeking a motivated full-time experienced Commercial Maintenance Technician to join our healthcare team from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. This position includes the maintenance of several healthcare facilities throughout St Joseph, Elkhart, Marshall and LaPorte County. Will require the use of your personal vehicle and mileage is reimbursed per the IRS standard rate. There is an on-call stipend of $250 per on call.
What you'll do
Responsibilities include the following:

Ensure that each assigned property is maintained according to healthcare standards

Some heavy lifting of equipment and replacement parts

Troubleshoot problems efficiently and make repairs

Provide excellent client-facing and internal communication skills

Perform quarterly maintenance on RTU's, split systems, heat pumps, boilers, circulation pumps, chillers and cooling towers

Maintain a high level of life safety guidelines set by the healthcare system (i.e. exit and emergency light testing)

Assisting vendors with fire system testing and documentation

Coordination with vendors for roof leak repairs, electrical repairs and additional electrical circuits

Conversion of florescent lighting to LED (120 and 277 volt fixtures)

On-call rotation among four other technicians to be on call every five weeks

Perform all the above and other related duties as assigned in accordance with applicable laws and company policies
Qualifications
This position requires the following skills and qualifications:

Technical school preferred, High School Diploma or G.E.D. required

Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in maintenance or equivalent field

A general mechanical knowledge of plumbing, electrical pneumatics and HVAC

Proficient in reading, writing, grammar and mathematical skills

Possess your own basic tools to perform building maintenance

Have a valid driver’s license
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen (both required)
