Job Description:
As the Senior Financial Analyst, you will work for the Master Planned Communities (MPC) team within LHMRE to provide support in financial planning & analysis, reporting, and financial forecasting for LHMRE projects.
Please note that this position requires on-site presence at our office location.
Scope of Responsibilities/Duties:
- Work closely with the MPC team to formulate the Real Estate company’s annual & long-term financial forecasts & business plans.
- Develop & interpret custom financial models in Excel to analyze the viability and profitability of real estate deals with an emphasis on land development projects.
- Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking on MPC projects and land holdings.
- Manage databases including home sales data, lot sales data and inventory data to structure deals including pricing lots for sale to builders, lot takedown schedules, and other key deal terms.
- Conduct market research to determine key inputs and assumptions used within financial models. Utilize findings from this research to make recommendations for how the LHMRE team should adapt strategies as market environments
- Produce monthly financial and KPI reporting for all assigned communities to monitor and track business performance. This may require the gathering of first person data by periodically visiting competing projects and interviewing sales people or other relevant parties.
- Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results to original budgets.
- Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel/DOMO dashboards
- Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools
- All other duties as assigned
Experience & Skills:
- BS in Accounting or Finance, Advanced degree (MRED, MBA, or related) a plus but not required
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible financial analysis responsibilities. Real Estate industry experience highly preferred but not required
- Working knowledge of accounting procedures and policies
- Ability to create visually compelling presentations with data that provide insights and tell the story behind the numbers
- Ability to develop and present well-reasoned recommendations to Senior management based on your highly accurate data organization and analysis work
- Must possess the ability to adapt to different personalities and management styles
- Team player with good interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements:
- This position requires frequent walking, standing, and climbing stairs in/around construction site, apartment homes, models, and properties.
- This position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions (to include but limited to, rain, snow, heat, hail, wind, and sleet), around hazardous chemicals, dust, dirt, and other particulates.
- Must have the ability to read and comprehend large quantities of information, operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move, and carry up to 60 lbs. independently.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about office setting.
