The Coordinator for Recreation and Intramurals promotes student wellness through competition and outdoor adventure to build an amazing student community experience! This position will focus on promoting a holistic approach to wellness through intramural games, fun student tournaments, and outdoor recreation programs. Intramurals are a great stress relief which is the top medical issue with college students. It helps students make lifelong friends, and adds weekend life and activity to Simpson University, so students don’t want to go home.
This position also supports the welcome desk for the student development office. Approximately half of the position’s time will be spent at our front desk, welcoming students, and supporting the office. The coordinator will be able to set all the administrative functions of managing intramurals and tournaments while at the front desk. The other half of the job will be in the field and managing programs. Because this position is hourly, the role will set up outdoor recreation adventures for our students to be managed by volunteers. This is a 12-month position, but because there are very few students on campus during the summer, this position will have recruiting or other student development related projects assigned during the summer months. This position will work late evenings and weekends during the school year.
