Job Description
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate programs and events for all ages within a financially self-supporting framework.
- Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate program instructors. Ensure all instructors have the necessary support and resources needed to be successful.
- Work with internal departments and community partners to create and execute agreements for contractual programs. Oversee all aspects of programs to ensure JCPRD standards of success.
- Assist in completion of various budget projects; to include preparation of annual budget and forecasting of all revenues and expenses for programming area(s).
- Lead marketing efforts to promote programs through a variety of avenues; social media, county publications and e-Newsletters.
- Work cooperatively with facility rental staff on room availability and space. Provide assistance with room setups and tear downs for classes, programs and building rentals.
- Assist with solicitation of sponsorships and donations for programming needs.
- Develops and maintains expertise in recreation program trends and issues by attending professional conferences and serving on professional committees to provide leadership in the park and recreation community.
- Assists Recreation Specialist with promotion, and implementation of the Live Well Age Well special event.
- Provide support and coverage for the facilities welcome desk, as needed. Occasionally provide coverage or event assistance at other 50 Plus Department offices or with department daytrips, social outings, and nature walks which may require driving a 14-passenger mini-bus.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with a major emphasis in Recreation, or related field.
- Minimum of four years of relevant experience and one year of problem solving and organizing.
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly and engaging demeanor with patrons.
- Organized, creative and have leadership skills to maintain program success.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Time management skills including the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong customer service skills and experience with serving older adults.
- Maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with district staff and community partners.
- Ability to work independently, and as a team.
- Presentation skills to small, and large groups.
- Attention to detail in analyzing business practices, budget, schedules, and tasks.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Lifting up to 25lbs.
- All department staff may be required to assist in other program areas which may require driving a 15-passenger transportation vehicle.
- Assisting with outdoor camps and/or programs exposing them to hot or cold temperatures.
