GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for planning and organizing the operations, services, staff, and activities of the assigned on-site recreation area.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Conducts workshops with clients including arts and crafts, team building exercises, general exercise and reading groups.
Oversees the development of a diversified recreation programs and services for all ages in accordance with the community needs.
Participates in Community Outreach
Evaluates program effectiveness, recommends changes and implements
Oversees the activities of staff and volunteers; plans, assigns, trains, and monitors staff duties.
Performs administrative tasks, such as attending and scheduling meetings, and preparing reports.
Performs routine facility maintenance such as set up tables, chairs, equipment, supplies.
Provides communication and written documentation regarding all recreation program areas and facility activities
Monitors inventory and orders supplies
Coordinates all staff parties, meetings and events which include decorating and cleaning up
Assists Social Services in client’s cases as needed.
In the event of an emergency, Essential Employees are required to report to work as scheduled

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent required
One year of experience in Social Services preferred.
Must be able to interact effectively with the facility staff and client population.
Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
Must be able to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing)
Bilingual – English/Spanish plus
