Regional Claims Manager manages the operations of an insurance claims department to meet operational, financial, and service requirements. Oversees the intake and processing of insurance claims for personal, property, or casualty loss based on coverage, appraisal, and verifiable damage. Being a Regional Claims Manager manages appraisal and examination staff and processes. Assures timely and proper disposition of claims based on policy provisions. Additionally, Regional Claims Manager recommends and implements best practices to ensure complete and thorough claim settlements, legal reviews, and investigations following company policies and insurance industry regulations. Determines the value of settlements for escalated claims. Manages negotiations of settlements and administration of claims in litigation. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Regional Claims Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Regional Claims Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.   • The Claims Manager position at Choice Insurance is responsible for fostering collaboration between the carrier/client and advocacy of personal and commercial lines claims, shaping plans of action and overall claims management expectations. They will work directly with multiple insurance company representatives and clients to manage claim costs on all lines of personal and commercial insurance coverages.

    Responsibilities (What will be the day- to- day responsibilities of this position?)

    • Develop positive relationships with Choice Insurance associates, clients, and carriers
      • Act as a resource/point of contact for complex claims issues
      • Aggressively pursue timely closure of all claims
      • Assist in investigations of claims, compensability and damages
      • Participate in claims strategies development with insurance representatives and attorneys
      • Develop, facilitate, and present effective claims management training and resources to educate our clients
      • Analyze claims status, prepare and/or present reports to Advisors, Account Executives and clients as requested
      • Keep abreast of all new developments in the claim’s arena through periodicals, seminars, membership organizations and carrier meetings
      • Maintain an extensive knowledge of insurance coverages and markets
      • Document claim activity within agency management system
      • Other duties as directed by management

    Experience

    Required
    • Demonstrated professional, tactful negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve objectives required
    • Ability to analyze and interpret claims information and loss data to facilitate decision making
    • Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workloads to meet time sensitive deadlines
    • Willingness to expand knowledge and effectiveness in insurance industry by successful completion of extended insurance education beyond continuing education requirements for licensing
    • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
    • Strong internal and external customer service skills, with the ability to develop sound relationships with multiple clients and claims partners
    • Ability to prepare and present client presentations with clarity and understanding
    • Mathematical aptitude and attention to detail required
    • Working knowledge of federal and state legislation and legal issues related to the insurance industry required
    • Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel from upper management to clientele labor work force
    • Strong interpersonal skills including negotiation skills, team building skills, and flexibility
    • Self-motivated, problem solving/solution oriented with goal setting and project administration skills
    • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written is required
    • Practical knowledge of all major personal and commercial insurance lines of coverage and claims principles, terminology and practices/procedures
    • 5 year(s): Years of Experience in insurance claims, customer service, or a related field is often preferred.
    Preferred
    • Property Casualty License
    • Insurance and claims management designations/certifications
    • Multiple jurisdictional experience
