Regional Medical Director jobs in Champaign, IL
Regional Medical Director establishes and implements health care policies and standards, evaluates new treatments, and conducts medical research to ensure the quality of the medical care provided to patients for a specified region. Writes research publications to support clinical service offerings. Being a Regional Medical Director is responsible for strategic clinical relationships with physicians in the region. Oversees the development of the clinical content in marketing materials. Additionally, Regional Medical Director ensures all regional clinical programs are in compliance with laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree. Typically reports to top management. The Regional Medical Director manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. Comprehensive knowledge of the overall departmental function. Job Summary:
The Medical Director is responsbile for managing, providing, and overseeing care to the residents at our nursing facility. They coordiante care in the facility by providing clinical guidance and oversight of the resident care policies.
Essential Duties:
- Collaborates with the facility leadership, staff, and other practitioners and consultants to help develop, implement and evaluate resident care policies and procedures that reflect current standards of practice
- Helps identfy, evaluate, and resolve medical and clinical concerns that affect resident care or quality of life
- Make recommendations to the 5 administrator and director of nursing to help improve care and operational issues; and participate in problem-solving efforts
Preferred Qualifications:
Must possess a current, unencumbered M.D. Licence in the State of Illinois.
Experience in Long Term Care as a Medical Director highly preferred.
