    Description

    The Assistant Registrar manages and oversees academic record computing functions related to the academic affairs administrative offices and supervises daily operations in the Office of the Registrar.


    Responsibilities

    • Assist in general registrar office projects and functions including, but not limited to compilation of course schedules, grade processing and commencement preparations.
    • Update individual student degree audits to include substitutions and waivers as well as send degree audits to seniors and their advisors.
    • Provide academic affairs administrative personnel with support on PowerCampus Self-Service.
    • Manage academic records database by maintaining the integrity of database operation and exploring innovative ways to automate manual processes.
    • Maintains the Undergraduate Catalog and Graduate and Professional Studies Catalog, including but not limited to updating program/curriculum requirements and adding new course descriptions.
    • Generates reports for the Office of the Registrar and other academic affairs administrative offices such as class lists, student rosters, etc.
    • Performs transfer credit evaluations for traditional undergraduate and Graduate and Professional Studies applicants.
    • Assists in processing student registrations, add/drop requests and withdrawals.
    • Complete enrollment and education verifications.
    • Provides back up to front desk staff including answering phones, managing emails and office walk-ins.
    • Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and confidential information/materials.
    • Work effectively with all college employees and students.
    • Assume the role of Registrar in their absence.
    • Represents the college at the New Hampshire College & University Council meetings.

    Requirements

    Education and/or Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in business or other appropriate discipline or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
    • Evidence of relevant administrative technical experience.
    Attendance and Punctuality
    • Always regular and prompt.
    • Must be physically present at work.
    • Available some weekend and evening hours as needed.
    Computer Skills
    • Broad base of technical knowledge and skills related to organizing and maintaining moderately complex filing and records systems. Significant relevant experience with computerized information systems, including proficiency in Access, Excel and Argos.
    • Sufficient computer skills and experience to perform routine word processing and record-keeping functions. Sufficient understanding of computerized databases to efficiently capitalize on technological resources related to tracking and analyzing relevant data.
    • Broad base of general technical knowledge and skills related to managing complex records systems, including computerized information systems. Directly related experience in student records and registration desirable.
    Other Skills & Abilities
    • Experience which demonstrates skills in research, project organization and management, problem analysis and effective interpersonal communication.
    • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of college personnel and students and/or outside individuals/organizations.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work well with the public and cooperatively with other staff and departments.
