The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), Aeronautics Division is looking for a professionally aggressive individual to track, catalogue, and assess aircraft based within the state, and to manage the Aircraft Registration Program.
This role will include a significant amount of travel around the state conducting site inspections of the various airports and therefore a valid driver's license is required.
Principal Duties
As the Aircraft Registration Program Manager you will:
- Manage all aspects of the state aircraft registration program
- Assess aircraft values using common industry practices
- Conduct airport hangar inspections
- Find and contact aircraft owners
- Develop aircraft counting and reporting methods for airports
- Audit aircraft registration revenues annually
- Manage the online aircraft registration process
- Develop administrative rules for the registration process
The Ideal Candidate
The best candidate will have:
- A private pilot certificate or ability to obtain
- A valid driver license
- A bachelor's degree, or higher, in aviation management OR equivalent experience
- The ability to professionally address aircraft fee concerns and appeals
- Experience in aviation management

- Clear understanding of state a federal aircraft registration procedures and law
- Familiarity with aircraft blue book digest and other industry valuation techniques and practices
- Project management and organization
- Ability to present and speak in public
- Ability to clearly communicate both orally and in writing
- Knowledge of both state and federal aviation regulations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.84 - $54.53 per hour
