Regulatory Affairs Director oversees regulatory matters and executes the strategy to ensure the organization complies with applicable regulations. Develops processes and systems to ensure that all necessary licensing, filings, certifications, and permits are processed and monitored. Being a Regulatory Affairs Director establishes monitoring policies and procedures to ensure compliance with existing regulations. Anticipates new or changing regulations and coordinates with internal stakeholders to develop strategies to address changes in product, operations, or testing requirements. Additionally, Regulatory Affairs Director investigates and addresses any reported issues of non-compliance. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Regulatory Affairs Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Regulatory Affairs Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     San Bernardino County is currently seeking an innovative and results-driven Deputy Director of Veterans Affairs. The Deputy Director of Veterans Affairs assists the Director in planning, organizing and directing a County-wide program to inform veterans and their dependents of rights and benefits, and providing assistance in obtaining services provided by local, state, and federal agencies and veterans organizations

    Our generous alternative Modified Benefits Option provides a wage differential of 4% above the base salary with a complementing modified leaves package and benefits, including the use of increased pay rate to calculate County contributions to RMT, 401(k), and 457(b) plans, leaves cash outs, and retirement contribution rates.
     

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

    Pre-Employment Process: Applicant must successfully pass a background check and medical exam prior to appointment.

    Travel/LicenseA valid California Class C driver license is required at time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment. Employees in this class may be required to use personal vehicles and show proof of automobile liability insurance. 

    Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is unable to consider to candidates who require Visa Sponsorship at this time or in the future. Candidates must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States at the time of employment.

    *Salary increases contingent upon Property Related Revenue and/or statewide Proposition 172 Sales Tax Collections performance.
    Candidates must meet BOTH the Education and Experience requirements to qualify.

    EDUCATION:
    Must possess a completed bachelor's degree in business or public administration, management, behavioral/social science, or closely related field.
    - AND -
    EXPERIENCE:
    Must possess four (4) years of management experience in a public agency, private non-profit agency, or similar organization AND two (2) years of full-scope supervisory responsibility (may be concurrent).

    Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education.     Accreditation by the USDVA at the time of application is highly desirable and should be indicated on the certificate/license section of the application.
