Rehabilitation Services Supervisor is responsible for the day to day operations of the rehabilitation therapy function. Supervises the delivery of therapy programs to patients. Being a Rehabilitation Services Supervisor responsibilities include providing consultation to and monitoring the performance of the rehabilitation staff. Oversees staff and ensures that all policies and procedures are followed as set forth by the health care facility. Additionally, Rehabilitation Services Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires a license in the area of specialization. The Rehabilitation Services Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. Job Summary
Under minimal supervision provides clinical and administrative supervision to Rehabilitation Services staff assigned to Outpatient Rehabilitation Services Clinic operations. Monitors Rehabilitation Services outpatient operations and care delivery. Monitors and evaluates services and personnel for performance and quality improvement. In collaboration with Rehab Services Director and Lead Therapists, conducts performance appraisals of staff members under designated IP assignment. Serves as a liaison to DH medical and administrative staff from Rehabilitation Services. Represents Rehabilitation Services to agency work teams, committees and related operational functions. Participates in staff hiring, orientation development, counseling and corrective action, as assigned. In collaboration with department leadership, prepares staff work schedules and adjusts, as indicated.
Education
1. Completion of graduation-qualifying degree and license-qualifying standard per therapy discipline, required. 2. Master’s degree, preferred.
Experience
1. Three years of experience as PT/OT/ST clinician, required.
2. Two years of experience as a Lead Therapist, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. Knowledge of Rehabilitation Services discipline (PT/OT/ST) standards and guidelines used to perform essential functions of the job.
2. Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
3. Excellent communication, in both written and verbal forms, used to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, co-workers, agency staff and community partners.
4. Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with internal and external team members to ensure operational success.
5. Demonstrates leadership and staff supervisory skills across a broad range of employees.
6. Ability to integrate requirements of the agency and/or regulatory agencies into clinical decisions and documentation.
7. Ability to contribute to the development of Rehabilitation Services staff by identifying learning needs and assisting with education and training requirements.
8. Ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations and direct actions of others.
9. Ability to immediately and independently address issues and problems as they occur with patients, staff and visitors and to escalate appropriately.
10. Ability to abide by ethical guidelines as outlined by respective professional association.
11. Ability to hand complex patient situations in the physical work environment.
12. Ability to encourage and guide others toward goals.
13. Ability to ensure quality, effectiveness and efficiency of unit activities and safety measures.
Computers and Technology
1. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
2. Experience with EPIC electronic medical records.
Certificates, Licenses and Registration
1. Current professional licensure per therapeutic profession and/or state licensure requirements.
Supervisory Responsibilities
1. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to, hiring, terminating, performance management, coaching, supervision, fostering teamwork, training and development of one or more employees.
