Reimbursement Specialist - Healthcare determines the extent to which patients' insurance covers their treatments. Reviews appropriateness of CPT-4/ICD-10 coding and determines if care provided corresponds to the charges submitted. Being a Reimbursement Specialist - Healthcare ensures compliance with Federal and State regulations and company policies that govern Medicare and state payment systems. May assist in identifying fraudulent non-plan billing practices and assists the legal department with litigation preparation. Additionally, Reimbursement Specialist - Healthcare may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Typically requires Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from AAPC or AHIMA. The Reimbursement Specialist - Healthcare gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. What are we looking for in an Engagement Specialist?
The Engagement Specialist serves as a primary resource to clients who need additional support to maintain active involvement with treatment. Working with clients who have irregular attendance at scheduled appointments, the Engagement Specialist will identify barriers to treatment and provide necessary support and accommodations to better engage the client with services. This could include contacting clients after missed appointments to quickly reschedule, identifying transportation alternatives, updating contact information, assisting with problem solving around attendance, and providing referrals to other community resources to support needs that have been going unmet. The Engagement Specialist position requires excellent listening and communication skills, the ability to quickly build rapport with people of all backgrounds, and the ability to solve problems creatively. This position has a Monday-Friday 8am-5pm schedule and must be on-site in one of our clinics; however, the person hired for this role may choose a work site in any of our outpatient clinic locations.
