ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist customers in processing various transactions
• Reviews and verifies documents for accuracy and completeness
• Operates a computer to retrieve and record data
• Handles customer inquiries (in person and over the phone)
• Collects payments made by cash, check or credit card
• Balances cash drawer and makes bank deposits
• Trains new employees
• Answers the phone and directs calls accordingly
• Receives and processes mail
• Corresponds with other agencies and organizations
• Performs other duties as assigned by the manager
• Processes paperwork regarding delinquent tax liens and the subsequent releases
• Prepares forms

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Kentucky resident
• Able to be bonded
• Effective written and verbal communications skills
• Able to operate office equipment including computer (PC & AS400), printer, fax, copier,

Scanner, calculator, and multi-line phone

• Able to calculate a tax bill and the timing of fees
• Able to learn the laws, regulations, policies, and procedures necessary to process Professional License and/or Delinquent Tax transactions and able to understand and explain them to customers

• Ability to record and transfer data accurately in a timely manner
• Ability to process monetary transactions accurately
• Able to learn, understand, and process underage marriage license form
• Able to learn and follow the laws of Kentucky Notaries
• Ability to learn/process solicitor license, peace officer license and other department license
• Able to follow proper filing procedures
• High school education or equivalent
• Six months experience as a CSR or two years of related experience
• Efficient using MS Office Word

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work is customer service in nature with clerical and data entry responsibilities. It requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing. The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. The work at times requires bending, squatting and reaching, with the ability to lift, carry, push or pull weights up to 25 pounds.

The Customer Service Representative is stationed in a department within the Finance Division. The incumbent provides quality customer service, helping the public process various types of transactions. The incumbent processes clerical work of routine difficulty.
