Reinsurance Specialist performs routine reinsurance administrative duties, such as maintaining records, processing and verifying new business. Organizes the preparation of monthly and annual reports and ensures reinsurance information has been recorded accurately. Being a Reinsurance Specialist performs reconciliation of premium billing statements and DAC tax calculations and maintenance of various reinsurance operations. Researches and resolves the more complex cases and provides guidance to others. Additionally, Reinsurance Specialist may review work performed by others and train new staff. Works towards industry designations (e.g., FLMI, ARA, ACS, etc.). Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Reinsurance Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Job Description:

    • Directly supervise wellness staff with respect to recruiting, hiring, evaluating, counseling, etc.
    • Oversee regular competency evaluations, continuing education, and training of nurses/caregivers
    • Complete Nursing Assessments, auxiliary evaluations of residents, and other required or requested evaluations
    • Establish and maintain quality care systems to ensure all residents receive care as outlined on individual resident care plans.
    • Oversee establishment of new residents’ care plans and physician orders and conduct plan reviews with families on a regular basis
    • Monitor and audit MAR and eMAR and establishes department process for the timely and accurate tracking of resident data
    • Monitor shift change notes, communication logs, pharmacy reports, incident reports, physician orders, etc., and escalates appropriately
    • Coordinate services with home health, hospice, and other agencies.
    • Occasionally fulfill shift nurse duties in order to evaluate efficiencies, systems and resident care.

    The ideal candidate for this critical role will have:

    • At least 2 years of experience as a Director in Assisted Living or Memory Care
    • Proven leadership and teambuilding skills
    • Strong experience developing individual team members and supervising a large team of frontline staff
    • Proven survey history
    • Professional written and verbal communication skills
    • Solid financial acumen
