    Job Description

    COMC is seeking an accomplished Engineering Manager to join our Engineering team. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, the Engineering Manager is responsible for supervising, guiding, and mentoring a team of developers, ensuring that they follow the standards and practices established by the CEO and the head of Technology, and providing first-line HR supervision and management of the engineers. The Engineering Manager will collaborate with Program Managers to plan, prioritize, and groom work for the team and to ensure that the work is delivered on time and according to standards.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Work with the head of Technology and other Engineering Managers to ensure consistency and adherence to standards across teams
    • Build the team and hire as needs and budget dictate
    • Coordinate the team’s efforts with other teams
    • Collaborate with Program Management on the definition, planning, and delivery of work
    • Check their team’s work for technical accuracy
    • Provide coaching and mentoring to the team members
    • Provide first-line HR management and supervision
    • Provide regular status updates to the head of Technology on both the engineers and the work being done
    • Uphold COMC values, quality standards, and exemplify C.A.R.D. culture.
    • Be a willing and collaborative partner to support all areas of the organization.
    • Maintains high level of confidentiality.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications


    Job Qualifications

    • Demonstrated ability to lead a high-performing team in a very fast-paced environment (2 years)
    • Solid understanding of software development practices and standards
    • Experience with multiple development languages, platforms, and systems
    • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
    • Experience with Agile methodologies
    • Highly organized self-starter with the ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced collaborative environment
    • Demonstrated strong and positive interpersonal talents; ability to interact with and influence people across disciplines and organizations
    • Able to apply independent judgment to accomplish objectives

    Additional Qualifications

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Knowledge of professional sporting industry (NBA, NFL, MLB etc.) is a plus.
    • Knowledge of the trading card industry.

     

    Work Location

    • Preferred Location – Tacoma, WA
    • Opportunity for Remote work – This is a hybrid position, working 2 – 3 days per week onsite.
