Additionally, Reliability Engineer creates risk-based failure mitigation plans. Proposes new or revised product designs, manufacturing processes and testing specifications that utilize best practices and will increase reliability. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to an engineering manager. The Reliability Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Reliability Engineer to lead the charge in implementing and advancing reliability best practices within our organization. This pivotal role involves not only evaluating the latest methods and technologies but also actively contributing to the continuous improvement of equipment reliability.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Collaborative Approach: Work closely with various plant teams and departments to identify, evaluate, and implement reliability improvement opportunities. This includes making impactful changes to operating and maintenance procedures, as well as overseeing equipment upgrades.
    2. Data-Driven Analysis: Analyze equipment history to pinpoint opportunities for enhancing reliability, employing root cause analysis methods and tools to address problems or failures that impact machine downtime and maintenance expenses.
    3. Strategic Input: Participate in new equipment selection and deployment processes, ensuring that reliability and maintainability principles are integral to the design and implementation phases.
    4. Autonomous Maintenance Support: Contribute to the Autonomous Maintenance process by aiding in the design and selection of operator inspections and tasks, promoting sustained equipment condition and performance.
    5. Reliability Strategies: Champion and promote key reliability strategies, emphasizing the importance of planned corrective maintenance over reactive maintenance and advocating for time-based preventive and condition-based (predictive) maintenance approaches.
    6. Continuous Improvement: Participate in audits to measure and validate the progress and performance in the reliability journey, applying reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles to optimize equipment maintenance strategies.
    7. CMMS Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), offering support in end-user training efforts to ensure data integrity and accuracy.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Failure Analysis: Lead the facility's Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process, participating in failure analyses to identify corrective actions and eliminate failure modes or reduce their consequences.
    • Knowledge Sharing: Interact with reliability engineers at other plants to share findings from failure analyses and collaboratively devise solutions to identified problems.
    • Performance Monitoring: Monitor equipment Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) performance to identify opportunities for reliability improvement.
    • PM Optimization: Examine defects and issues identified during Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) activities, utilizing this information for continuous improvement in PM optimization.
    • Equipment Design and Installation: Play a role in new and modified equipment design and installations.
    • Spare Parts Management: Assist in spare part reviews to ensure adequate stocking levels based on consumption due to normal wear and failure frequency.
    • Risk Mitigation: Identify risks of obsolescence and propose effective mitigation strategies.
    • Maintenance Techniques: Introduce tools and techniques for performing preventive and predictive maintenance activities, prescribing frequencies through CMMS maintenance plans.
    • Training and Support: Provide training and support for precision maintenance processes such as alignment and balancing.
    • Lubrication Program: Develop and maintain a world-class lubrication program, monitoring performance and execution.
    • Team Collaboration: Support autonomous activities and provide skills training to operations team members, driving proactive performance through supervision of planners and active participation in scheduling activities.
    • System Integrity: Ensure CMMS users are trained in system utilization and conduct audits to sustain system integrity.
    • SAP PM Expertise: Serve as a SAP PM subject matter expert for the plant.
