Elementary Activities Coordinator

- Description: The instructor will design and implement STEAM activities and challenges for students attending elementary extended school year.

TITLE: Elementary Activities Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Innovation Coordinator
JOB GOAL: To collaborate with administrators, teachers, parents, and students to integrate new technology and innovative activities in the extended summer school classroom.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid West Virginia Teaching Certificate.
- Possess expert knowledge in technology for curriculum and delivery of instruction
- Demonstrated experience in providing professional development in technology and innovative teaching strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to provide differentiated instruction and intervention to students exhibiting a wide range of abilities and behaviors.
- Experience in modeling lessons for teachers.
- Experience in being a resource for and collaborating with teachers.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Completion of a successful background check.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Provide professional development to principals, teachers and support staff on innovative teaching and learning strategies.
- Model proper computer ethics concerning copyright laws.
- Coordinate STEAM efforts during the extended school year
- Monitor the effectiveness of resources and consolidate to avoid duplication of resources.
- Respect and maintain the privacy of staff and students.
- Identify and/or create a k-12 STEAM/Technology curriculum and supplemental materials
- Assist with creating collaborative spaces in schools.
- Collaborate with extended school year staff to identify support necessary for the implementation of STEAM and innovation initiatives.
- Provide direct assistance to teachers implementing STEAM and innovation initiatives.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and district laws and policies.
- Promote and adhere to the district mission, core beliefs, academic goals, and target areas.
- Demonstrate a deep and extensive knowledge of the subject matter.
- Promote practices and policies that improve school environment and student learning.
- Demonstrate professional conduct as defined in law, policy and procedure at the state, district, and school level.
- Assist with the creation and coordination of extended year opportunities in STEAM and innovation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
