Elementary Activities Coordinator

• Description: The instructor will design and implement STEAM activities and challenges for students attending elementary extended school year.

TITLE: Elementary Activities Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Innovation Coordinator

JOB GOAL: To collaborate with administrators, teachers, parents, and students to integrate new technology and innovative activities in the extended summer school classroom.


QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid West Virginia Teaching Certificate.
• Possess expert knowledge in technology for curriculum and delivery of instruction
• Demonstrated experience in providing professional development in technology and innovative teaching strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to provide differentiated instruction and intervention to students exhibiting a wide range of abilities and behaviors.
• Experience in modeling lessons for teachers.
• Experience in being a resource for and collaborating with teachers.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Completion of a successful background check.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

• Provide professional development to principals, teachers and support staff on innovative teaching and learning strategies.
• Model proper computer ethics concerning copyright laws.
• Coordinate STEAM efforts during the extended school year
• Monitor the effectiveness of resources and consolidate to avoid duplication of resources.
• Respect and maintain the privacy of staff and students.
• Identify and/or create a k-12 STEAM/Technology curriculum and supplemental materials
• Assist with creating collaborative spaces in schools.
• Collaborate with extended school year staff to identify support necessary for the implementation of STEAM and innovation initiatives.
• Provide direct assistance to teachers implementing STEAM and innovation initiatives.
• Adhere to all federal, state, and district laws and policies.
• Promote and adhere to the district mission, core beliefs, academic goals, and target areas.
• Demonstrate a deep and extensive knowledge of the subject matter.
• Promote practices and policies that improve school environment and student learning.
• Demonstrate professional conduct as defined in law, policy and procedure at the state, district, and school level.
• Assist with the creation and coordination of extended year opportunities in STEAM and innovation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
