Rental Technician, Sr. removes, installs, diagnoses, repairs, disassembles, assembles, performs failure analyses and routine maintenance on rental equipment with some supervision and/or following established guidelines. Qualified on routine repairs, use of tools, and components with some supervision. Being a Rental Technician, Sr. requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Rental Technician, Sr. works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Job Summary:
Coordinate machine and attachment activity. Ensure rental fleet machines and attachments are capable of a safe and successful rental.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for coordinating and processing both inbound and outbound movement of machines and attachments on a daily basis
· Responsible for completion of initial check-in of machines and attachments to include –
o Documentation of machine hours and fuel level
o Verification unit’s manual is present
o Take pictures of each unit – noting obvious damage
o Notify Service Department and Equipment Manager immediately of any damage identified on a unit
o Advise Equipment Manager of unit arrival – provide check-in information
o Ensure unit is clean, safe and rental ready
o Park unit in appropriate area of the yard
· Responsible for completion of check-out process to include –
o Verification of equipment/serial number against shipper
o Take pictures of each unit
o Confirm manual is present
o Confirm appropriate attachment(s) are included
o Assist/load for shipment
· Utilize tablet for both check-in and check-out processes
· Locate and store machines and attachments in a neat and organized manner
· Responsible for identifying status of each unit
· Exercise each unit on the yard periodically
· Perform consignment inspections
· Responsible to ensure yard and tracking devices are present and working on each unit (RFID)
· Provide information when requested
· Other tasks as requested by management
Education/Experience/Skills:
· High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
· Basic computer skills
· Ability to operate a wide range of equipment
· Able to work with minimal supervision
· Skilled at prioritizing
· Basic technical aptitude
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
· Able to work overtime on a regular basis
· Able to climb on and off equipment and to walk all day
