Res. Hall Manager (Incl. Room, Board) oversees all activities of a residence hall. Oversees the maintenance and renovation, purchase and inventory of supplies, assignment of rooms and summer housing, and housekeeping functions. Being a Res. Hall Manager (Incl. Room, Board) is responsible for student housing assignment, maintenance of facilities, and safety of residents. Ensures students follow college/university conduct policies and takes appropriate disciplinary actions when rules are broken. Additionally, Res. Hall Manager (Incl. The Ingomar Club, a private membership club housed in the World-Famous Carson Mansion, is seeking a Bar Manager/Supervisor to elevate our beverage program. Typically, open Tuesday through Saturday for lunch and dinner, the Club is also known as a premier venue for members to host events. Additionally, the Club has a full slate of creative events throughout the year for the enjoyment of the membership.
JOB SUMMARY
The Dining Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of all Club dining rooms and social spaces. The Supervisor establishes service routines and a culture that match the expectations of our discriminating membership. The Supervisor is also responsible for compliance with all health and safety standards in the dining room and kitchen areas, all while providing excellent member/guest service.
Must have a minimum of five (5) years food service experience including some supervisory responsibilities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be at least 21 years of age.
OPERATIONS
Responsible for all aspects of daily dining room operations focused on First Class Customer Service
Establishes floor plans and assigns seating for ala carte service and special events
Determines required place settings for dining/special events
Orders and maintains linens and specialty/rental items as required for events
Ensure that health and safety standards are maintained and daily cleanliness procedures are consistently implemented.
Create restaurant opening procedures/checklist, and parodic cleaning schedules for all service equipment, storerooms and service staff areas.
Hires and trains staff on POS procedures, food ordering routines and proper service techniques
Supervises and schedules a dining room staff of approximately 8-10 servers/bussers
Other duties as assigned by management, including any supervisor or manager.
Works in coordination with the Bar Supervisor and Chef to ensure clear communication and coordination of efforts.
OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as host/hostess greeting members at lunch and dinner service, as required
May work as a server during busy times or when covering for sick servers
May be required to open/close the club, set alarms, etc.
Act as duty manager, answer phones, greet/seat guests as required
Maintain positive/professional attitude towards members, guests and other employees
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must complete RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) training for serving alcohol responsibly within one month of being employed and maintain a valid certificate while employed thereafter.
Must possess a current Food Handlers Permit (ServSafe, etc.).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to climb stairs/step stools, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move tables or furniture up to 35 pounds. Job Type: Hourly wage; 25-35 Hours per week
Compensation/Benefits: Hourly wage of $22-24 plus service charge pool. Employee benefits include health insurance with Club 90% Co-pay, 401k with Club match, vacation/sick pay, employee’s meals, optional dental, vision, and life insurance, and a great working environment.
