Res. Hall Manager (No Room, Board) oversees all activities of a residence hall. Responsible for student housing assignment, maintenance of facilities, and safety of residents. Being a Res. Hall Manager (No Room, Board) ensures students follow college/university conduct policies and takes appropriate disciplinary actions when rules are broken. Incumbent is not given room and board at the residence hall as part of the employment arrangement. Additionally, Res. Hall Manager (No Room, Board) oversees maintenance and renovation, purchase and inventory of supplies, assignment of semester rooms and summer housing, housekeeping functions, and management of student conduct and discipline. Room and board in the residence hall is not included in the terms of employment. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Res. Hall Manager (No Room, Board) supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. To be a Res. What you'll do
Supervise food prep and cooking
Manage kitchen staff and coordinate food orders
Check food plating and temperature
Establish portion sizes
Schedule kitchen staff shifts
Interviewing, selecting, and training employees
Price menu items in collaboration with the General Manager
Order food supplies and kitchen equipment, as needed
Train kitchen staff on prep work and execution
Store food products in compliance with safety practices
Keep weekly and monthly cost reports
Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area
Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the restaurant/hospitality industry

Experience working in the hospitality industry, exhibiting the ability to accommodate and adapt to situations by effective decision making
