Detailed Job Description
The Clean Energy and Water (CEW) lab in the Department of Mechanical Engineering needs to hire one postdoc in the research direction of computational materials in clean water systems.
Scarcity of freshwater and the increasing need for water supplies are already critical in many arid regions and are becoming increasingly important. Development of better membrane materials and structure for water purification is vital for life. We seek a postdoc focusing on computational investigations of the stability of membrane structures in solution and transportation of water/ions inside membrane.
Responsibilities:
Provide DFT/MD calculation support for understanding the data obtained from our experimental team
Mentor junior members in the lab for MD calculations
Maintain all the computational resources in the lab
Help supervisor of the CEW lab writing papers and proposals
Live our values, embrace diverse perspectives, and nurture the RIT community to remain a great place to work for all.
