Summary of Responsibilities:
The Development Associate is responsible for driving real estate development projects at the new Utah resort from beginning to end, supporting the Vice President or Senior Vice President, Development, and working in close collaboration with the finance, legal, accounting, construction and asset management teams. The Development Associate is responsible for preparing and reviewing various analyses necessary to implement the development business plan; creates and maintains the underwriting of development proformas; assists in the procurement and diligence processes for construction financing; prepares various reports, schedules, and memorandums necessary for the day to day management of projects; prepares and modifies development budgets for new and on-going projects; tracks and analyzes market comparablesand benchmarks projects; assists the development management team throughout all project phases such as contracts, programming, design, finance, construction, leasing/sales/marketing; and performs other duties as assigned.
Summary of Requirements:
Ideal candidates for the Development Associate position hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (advanced degree preferred); and 2-4 years of relevant experience in the real estate development or investment, business management, architecture, or other related activities in the real estate industry. The successful candidate must possess general knowledge of building construction workflows/processes; advanced knowledge of budgets, cost reports, accounting terms and complex capital structures/financing mechanisms; and an interest in ski resort and/or hospitality development. The Development Associate must possess exemplary financial, interpersonal, and analytical skills to include the effective ability to build complex financial models with unique capital structures from scratch.
Effective organization, administrative, time management, problem-solving, judgement, decision-making, communication (verbal and written), and professional presentation skills with a high attention to detail and commitment to achieve company goals are required. The successful ability to travel as needed, take initiative, make recommendations, and perform both independently and within a team in an entrepreneurial environment are required. Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) is a must.
