POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for GED Math and Science classes, and facilitating Career Development and Digital Literacy classes to program clients. Responsible for GED Math and Science curriculum development and instruction with specific learning objectives in alignment with the GED Testing Services subject assessments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop Math and Science course syllabus and curriculum through daily lesson plans with specific learning objectives in alignment with GED Testing Services subject assessment.
• Instruct adult students in Math and Science according to the required content areas in alignment with to the GED Testing Services subject assessment.
• Develop and implement Career Development and Digital Literacy course curriculum for adult students.
• Create and maintain individual GED student files in compliance with department and federal government policy.
• Provide guidance to TABE testing.
• Provide student course placement according to the required NRS-Level.
• Responsible for GED student recruitment and retention.
• Maintain GED master and remote equipment list.
• Maintain daily GED student attendance and seat time for Workforce and Higher Education stipend assistance.
• Provide transportation for TABE and GED testing when necessary.
• Create GED flyers for social media postings.
• Provide guidance and counseling for adult students.
• Other duties as assigned.

REPORTS TO: GED Instructor/Academic Advisor will report to the Higher Education Director and does not possess supervisory authority.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift up to fifteen (15) lbs., with the ability to stand and talk for extended periods of time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Majority of the duties will be performed in an in-person/remote classroom and/or office setting with occasional weekend work and travel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor degree form an accredited college or university in education or a closely related field is required.
• Must be proficient in upper primary and secondary Math and Science subject areas with strong classroom management, curriculum development, and lesson planning skills.
• One (1) year work experience as an accredited/licensed teacher within the state of Oklahoma is preferred.
• Remote/virtual teaching experience is preferred.
• Must possess exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher) proficiency is required.
• Social media platform proficiency is required.
• Must possess a valid Oklahoma State Driver’s License.
• Must be willing to submit and pass a drug test.
