DESCRIPTION:
MBS Engineering Inc. (MBS) is a professional, licensed A- General Engineering and C-36 Plumbing Contractor. MBS capabilities are construction of underground natural gas lines and electrical conduit. MBS provides 24-hour emergency services for all the services listed below, in addition to working on projects of similar nature on a weekly basis in these areas:
- Trenching, Hydrovac Excavation, Vacuum Excavation and Potholing
- Utility Certified Gas Pipe Installation and Fusion
- Hot Tap, Line Stop and Bypass Services
- Gas Regulator and Gas Meter Installations
- Gas Leak Survey and Emergency Repair
- Asphalt & Concrete Repairs & Replacement
- Underground Construction Projects – Joint Trench, Gas, Water, Sewer, Storm Drain
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Project Manager must be initiative-taking, energetic, dependable, well-spoken collaborator who can performs a variety of tasks in support of MBS Engineering services. - The Project Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of the project including communication and physical completion between the client and the MBS Engineering Field Staff. They are additionally responsible for internal communication to Project Coordinators, Estimators, Superintendent, and Management.
- The Project Manager is expected to develop a strong and dependable working relationship with the client project team and their staff.
- Responsible for attending all project related meetings
- Responsible for holding internal team to all timelines and expectations
- Responsible for ensuring all project related paperwork, billing, and submissions are completed in a timely manner.
- Ability to handle sensitive topics with discretion
- Develop strategies to maximize future project expectations with internal team
- Identify safety risks and address during project work with team
- Recognize project constraints or needed upgrades
- Deliver consistent communication, action, and expectations
- Ensure project scope is fully understood with the ability to pivot to accommodate for moving timelines and unexpected situations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering or construction management, or 9 years of equivalent work experience without a degree
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Project Management for large complex commercial engineering projects with underground utility work.
- Strong candidates will have in-depth experience with PG&E projects including process, acronyms, timelines, and expectations.
- PG&E trained or Certified in Gas Pipe Fusion and Installation (or willingness to be trained).
- OSHA 30 Safety Training (or willingness to be trained).
- Candidates are subject to Dept of Transportation (DOT) Pipeline drug and alcohol testing outlined in 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 199.
- Ability to pass Background Checks for Badging/Security Clearances
- Valid Driver’s License, Good Record, and Ability to attend active work site
- Must possess good communications skills and be detail oriented
